2022 Preview

With over half of their starters from 2021 returning, the Raiders have their sights set on competing for a district title in the revamped "Catholic League", as Edna Karr prepares to make its debut.

Senior quarterback Casey Avrard (1,200 yards, 4 TDs) had a steady junior campaign while junior tailback Jaidyn Martin (800 yards, 7 TDs) is prepared for a bounceback season in leading the Rummel brigade in the ground attack.

The defense brings back seven of its 11 starters from a year ago led by senior cornerback Ashton Stamps who has picked up multiple D1 offers throughout the offseason. Junior Darrius Davis returns as the team's leading tackler from 2021 with 135 total takedowns, one sack, and an interception.

Rummel's non-district opponents include Ouachita Parish in the opening week of the season as well as road games at University Lab and Archbishop Shaw followed by a home contest against Scotlandville. In Catholic League play, the Raiders' key games come against John Curtis on Oct. 7, Brother Martin on Oct. 21 and Edna Karr on Oct. 28. Rummel will finish out its 2021 regular season slate against Jesuit on Nov. 4 at Southeastern Louisiana's Strawberry Stadium.
