2025 GeauxPreps Class 2A Football Players to Watch

Elijah Haven – Dunham – 2027
Dunham’s sophomore quarterback, Elijah Haven, is the #1 quarterback in the nation for the Class of 2027 according to On3. He has quickly become one of the most electrifying young signal-callers in the country. The rising junior led the Tigers to the DIII select state title game in 2024, putting together a monster season with 3,093 passing yards and 37 touchdowns through the air, along with 925 rushing yards and 19 scores on the ground.
Braylun Huglon – Calvary – 2027
Braylun Huglon is quickly emerging as one of Louisiana’s top two-way threats in the Class of 2027. The Calvary soon-to-be junior turned heads during his sophomore campaign, hauling in 32 receptions for 669 yards and 11 touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball. On the defensive side, he was just as impactful, recording 52 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 6 pass breakups.

Brayden Allen – Lafayette Christian Academy – 2026
LCA’s Brayden Allen, a 6’1″, 175-pound rising senior, is one of Louisiana’s most explosive playmakers in the Class of 2026. Ranked as the No. 15 player in the state by On3, Allen earned All-State honors in 2024 after a record-breaking season with 55 receptions for 1,157 yards and 10 touchdowns. Allen holds offers from a number of schools but is down to his top 4 of Tulane, Boston College, Vanderbilt, and Texas Tech.

Karon Eugene – Catholic-N.I. – 2027
Karon Eugene, a versatile safety from Catholic-New Iberia, is making waves as one of Louisiana’s top defenders in the class of 2027. Ranked as the No. 7 player in the state by On3, Eugene earned Class 2A All-State honors and sealed the Division III Select state title game with an interception in the final minute. He holds offers from LSU, Houston, Texas A&M, USC, Michigan, and others.
Ari Slocum – Union Parish – 2026
Union Parish’s Ari Slocum is a 6’3″, 280-pound two-way athlete committed to Arkansas. While he’s projected to play on the defensive line at the next level, Slocum also lines up at tight end for the Farmers, where he flashes some big-play ability down the field. His combination of size and speed has earned him offers from Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State, Purdue, Houston, and more.

Jake Randle – Newman – 2026
Newman’s Jake Randle is a dynamic running back in the class of 2026 and a recent Tulane commit. In his junior season, he ran for 1,086 yards and 18 touchdowns. He holds offers from Tulane, Army, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Yale, and more. New Greenies head coach Aaron Vice will be thrilled to have Randle line up in the backfield against St. Charles on September 5th.
Isaiah Thomas – Kinder – 2027
Kinder’s Isaiah Thomas emerged as a breakout star in 2024, guiding the Yellowjackets to a 9-3 record, an undefeated district slate, and a quarterfinal appearance. The rising junior was named district MVP and earned first-team all-district honors after throwing for over 1,900 yards and rushing for more than 500. His outstanding sophomore season also earned him Class 2A all-state honorable mention recognition.
