After a remarkable 12-year run with the Benton Tigers, Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Reynolds Moore announced that he is stepping down. In a team meeting, Moore reflected on his time leading the Tigers, where he became the school’s second-winningest coach and a fixture in north Louisiana high school football.

During his tenure, Coach Moore guided Benton to 10 playoff appearances and claimed three District 1-4A titles. His final record stands at 82-52.

“Serving as the head football coach at Benton High School has been one of the greatest privileges of my life,” Moore said in a press release from the school. “I look back on my time here in that role with deep satisfaction, immense gratitude, and a tremendous amount of pride at what we have been able to accomplish. I would like to thank all three principals who allowed me to serve our students, as well as the numerous assistant coaches who are truly the backbone of our success.”

Moore isn’t stepping away from his community entirely. As a student pastor at Covenant Church, he plans to focus on his ministry while continuing to make an impact beyond the playing surface.

“Coach Moore has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless student-athletes over the years,” Benton High Principal Whitney Clark shared. “Our school community will be forever grateful for the passion, commitment, and dedication shown by Coach Moore and his family over the last 12 years.”

Benton High will soon begin the search for Moore’s successor, but his legacy is sure to leave a lasting mark.
