Episcopal and Ascension Catholic Claim State Titles on Day 1 of LHSAA Powerlifting Championships

KENNER – The 2025 LHSAA Powerlifting State Championships kicked off yesterday at the Ponchartrain Center in Kenner, marking a new era for the sport’s biggest stage. Division IV and V boys took center stage on Day 1, with Episcopal of Baton Rouge claiming the Division IV state title and Ascension Catholic securing the Division V championship. The competition saw extraordinary performances, including Carson Furniss of Episcopal (1320 total pounds) and Reid Chauvin of Episcopal (1630 total pounds) in Division IV, while Marlin Jackson of Northwood-Lena (1520 total pounds) and Aiden Paine of Ascension Catholic (1500 total pounds) led Division V.
