TEURLINGS CATHOLIC VS. NOTRE DAME

Two Acadiana powers collide tonight with both squads sitting at 2-0. Teurlings Catholic, fresh off a 46-14 win over Sam Houston, while Notre Dame cruised past Ville Platte 42-7.

First-year Rebels head coach Michael Courville has his team rolling early, and they’ll look to build on last year’s 21-10 victory over Notre Dame.

The Pioneers counter with senior running back Joachim Bourgeois, who scored twice in their Week 2, proving tough to bring down.

Prediction: Teurlings Catholic 27, Notre Dame 17


MADISON PREP VS. SOUTHSIDE

The Chargers sit at 2-0 after a 30-21 win over Mandeville in week 2, and bring plenty of weapons, including running back J’on Profit and versatile two-way standout Landon Johnson.

Southside, now 1-1 after falling to Westgate, will host the matchup at their brand-new stadium, “The Reef.” State Champion head coach Jess Curtis is building his Sharks into a contender, and they’ll try to make it two straight after winning last year’s matchup 27-14.

Prediction: Madison Prep 22, Southside 20


BELLE CHASSE VS. SOUTH PLAQUEMINES

Belle Chasse has yet to give up a point through two games, outscoring opponents 131-0, and is off to one of the hottest starts in the state. Running back Dillan Carter leads the charge for the Cardinals, while defending Division IV non-select state champion South Plaquemines features quarterback Roderick Parker, who has already thrown eight touchdowns.

The Hurricanes are looking for revenge after a 35-12 loss in 2024.

Prediction: Belle Chasse 27, South Plaquemines 16


HAYNESVILLE VS. HOMER

One of Louisiana’s most storied rivalries is back. Haynesville, defending state champion, is 2-0 following a 42-14 victory over Harmony Grove (AR) and is anchored by LSU commit Isaiah Washington, who stars on both sides of the ball.

Homer, 1-1 after a tough loss to Minden, counters with explosive receiver Jerzyion Levingston. The Pelicans are motivated for revenge after falling 27-12 in last year’s meeting.

Prediction: Haynesville 30, Homer 16


AIRLINE VS. UNION PARISH

Airline has opened the season with back-to-back 50-point performances, most recently a 50-18 rout of Benton. The Vikings’ offense is flying high behind LSU wide receiver commit Kenny Darby.

Union Parish, meanwhile, has started 0-2 but against two of the best in the state in North DeSoto and Alexandria. Arkansas commit Ari Slocum anchors the Farmers’ defensive front as they look to slow down Airline’s attack.

Last year’s result was a 56-28 Airline win.

Prediction: Airline 44, Union Parish 20
