Airline vs. Evangel
Airline (3-0) has been rolling with an explosive offense averaging 47 ppg behind LSU commit Kenny Darby. The Vikings defense has also been elite, allowing just 21 points per game, fresh off a 34-19 win over Union Parish.
Evangel (2-1) counters with another LSU commit, quarterback Peyton Houston, who has the Eagles scoring 46 points per game but also giving up 37 per game. Expect fireworks in this one.
Prediction: Evangel 48, Airline 45
Catholic-PC vs. Westminster Christian
Catholic-PC (3-0) survived a thriller last week, defeating Archbishop Hannan 36-35. The Hornets average 42 points per game with quarterback Jude Morrison at the helm, while the defense has surrendered 24 per game.
Westminster Christian (3-0), coming off of a 49-7 victory over WCA. The Crusaders have been dominant, outscoring opponents by an average of 51-5, led by head coach Byron Porter. Someone is going home with their first loss of the young season.
Prediction: Westminster Christian 27, Catholic-PC 24
Notre Dame vs. Catholic-NI
Notre Dame (2-1) is coming off a tight 24-20 loss to Teurlings Catholic. The Pioneers, powered by running back Joachim Bourgeois, average 34 points per game while giving up 18.
Catholic-NI (3-0) has been sharp offensively, scoring 32 points per game, and the Panthers’ defense has held opponents to 11 per game. In week 3, the Panthers hung 56 on Patterson and are looking for a repeat performance.
Prediction: Catholic-NI 27, Notre Dame 20
North DeSoto vs. Northwood-Shreveport
North DeSoto (3-0) is riding high after a huge win over West Monroe, fueled by the Griffins’ offensive line and running back Kenny Thomas. The Griffins average 45 points per game while giving up just 17.
Northwood-Shreveport (3-0) is also unbeaten, averaging a scorching 57 ppg and allowing 18 under head coach Austin Brown.
Prediction: North DeSoto 38, Northwood 21
Edna Karr vs. Holy Cross
Edna Karr (3-0) has looked unstoppable, led by LSU commits Aiden Hall and Richard Anderson anchoring a defense that allows just 6 points per game. The Cougars’ offense has averaged 41 points per game, including a 63-0 shutout of McDonogh 35 last week.
Holy Cross (3-0), coming off of a 23-6 win over Chalmette in week 3, has leaned on running back Ke’Rynn Smith while scoring 23 points per game and holding opponents to just 11.
Prediction: Edna Karr 42, Holy Cross 13
