Neville vs. Sterlington

Neville is looking to bounce back after a tough 27-23 loss at St. Thomas More in week 4. The Tigers have dealt with a few early bumps in the road, along with a few injuries to key starters. Rebounding against the a 2024 state champion is no small task.

The Panthers enter with a 3-1 record and motivation from last year’s 17-10 loss to Neville. A faster start this season has Sterlington looking like contenders again after their 2024 championship run.

Prediction: Neville 28, Sterlington 17


Catholic-NI (3-1) vs. Lake Charles College Prep (3-1)

Last week’s collapse against Notre Dame left Catholic with something to prove. A rebound performance would help the Panthers solidify themselves as a team capable of defending their 2024 championship.

The Trailblazers have impressed to start their 2025 campaign with wins over Barbe, Opelousas, and Mansfield. With confidence growing, they now have a shot to take down a defending state champion and make their own statement in class 3A.

Prediction: Catholic 27, LCCP 16


Edna Karr vs. St. Augustine

The Cougars’ (4-0) defense has been nearly unbreakable, allowing just three points to in-state opponents. Karr will try to maintain its defensive dominance in one of the state’s biggest showdowns.

Averaging 57 points per game, the Purple Knights (4-0) have one of Louisiana’s most explosive offenses. With four wins under their belt, St. Aug is primed to challenge Karr’s streak.

Prediction: Edna Karr 28, St. Aug 22


Destrehan vs. Terrebonne

After routing East St. John 50-6, the Wildcats (2-2) are searching for consistency. LSU commit Jabari Mack provides star power, but Destrehan will need a complete effort to slow down Terrebonne’s hot start.

The Tigers have surged to 5-0, highlighted by a 52-38 shootout win over Hahnville. Running back Quincy Adams has already racked up nearly 800 yards and 12 touchdowns,

Prediction: Destrehan 28, Terrebonne 26


St. Charles vs. St. James (3-1)

The Comets (4-0) have been steady and efficient, averaging 30 points per game while giving up just 7.5 defensively. St. James, a state runner up in 2024, presents issues all over the field with playmakers.

The Wildcats (3-1) are explosive on both sides of the ball, averaging 45 points while holding opponents to under a touchdown per game. After a 54-0 shutout of Ponchatoula, St. James looks ready to use this rivalry as a springboard for the remainder of 2025.
