Week 8 in Louisiana high school football did not disappoint! We saw record-breaking runs, huge catches, and defenses making those game-changing stops just when it mattered. Special teams stepped up too—kickers were clutch, nailing field goals. Time is flying by, only a couple more weeks until playoffs begin!
Xavier Ford – Leesville
On the evening Cecil Collins was inducted into the Leesville High School Hall of Fame, Xavier Ford put on a show, scoring his 100th career touchdown… and more. Ford went on to score six touchdowns to lead the Wampus Cats to a 67-16 victory over Washington-Marion.

Brennan Champagne – Covenant Christian
Brennan Champagne was a standout for Covenant Christian in their 29-12 victory over Jeanerette, leading the defense with 14 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss.
He also contributed a key fumble recovery and forced a fumble, securing a huge win for the Lions.
Brooks Monica – St. Charles
Brooks Monica delivered a clutch performance for the St. Charles Comets in their thrilling 14-13 win over previously undefeated Belle Chasse.
Monica racked up an impressive 17.5 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss, anchoring the Comets’ defense and playing a crucial role in preserving their narrow victory.
Jakias Villanueva – St. James
Jakias Villanueva was unstoppable for the St. James Wildcats in their 35-6 win over Donaldsonville.
The standout wide receiver hauled in 9 receptions for 137 yards and found the end zone three times, showing his big-play ability and helping drive the Wildcats’ offense to victory.
Asher Murray – C.E. Byrd
Asher Murray made history for C.E. Byrd with a record-tying 56-yard field goal at the end of the first half, giving the Yellow Jackets a 17-14 lead over Benton.
Murray’s kick matched the school, city, and Caddo-Bossier parishe record for the longest field goal, tying former Byrd kicker John Shaughnessy’s 56-yarder from the 2008 playoffs.
This marked the third consecutive week that a Murray field goal sent Byrd into halftime with a 3-point advantage. The Yellow Jackets held on to defeat Benton 37-21.
JT Lindsey – Alexandria
LSU commit JT Lindsey led the charge in a huge 40-36 win over Ruston, racking up 136 yards on 32 carries with two rushing touchdowns.
He also hauled in two catches for 64 yards and another score, finishing the game with three total touchdowns and showcasing his playmaking ability for the Trojans.
Tyrin Singleton – Delta Charter
Delta Charter’s Tyrin Singleton delivered an unforgettable performance in an 84-82 win over General Trass, racking up 369 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 38 carries, averaging 9.7 yards per carry.
In a game that stretched into four overtimes, Singleton only grew stronger, powering Delta Charter’s offense with nearly 700 total yards in an epic showdown.
Zach Jenkins – Lutcher
Zach Jenkins had a stellar performance for Lutcher in their 56-0 victory over Ellender.
The Bulldogs quarterback completed 8 of 13 passes for 194 yards and threw five touchdown passes without an interception.
Jenkins also contributed on the ground with 28 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Bryce Wilkerson – Thomas Jefferson
Bryce Wilkerson was a force for Thomas Jefferson in their 39-21 win over Patrick Taylor, rushing for a 320 yards on 23 carries and scoring six touchdowns.
Wilkerson showcased his explosive speed with touchdown runs of 72, 67, 62, 12, 4, and 1 yard, averaging 13.9 yards per carry and leading his team to a much needed win.
Karsen Sellers – Alexandria
Karsen Sellers delivered a standout performance for the Alexandria Trojans in their big 40-36 win over Ruston, completing 12 of 17 passes for 241 yards and four touchdown passes.
His efficient play was instrumental in securing the victory. Sellers has been the straw that stirs the drink for the Trojans and looks to keep the Trojans unblemished over the next two games.
