GeauxPreps Names Impact Players from Week 1

The opening week of the Louisiana high school football season delivered some incredible performances, with players across the state making their presence felt. Here’s a look at our impact players from week 1.


Dalen Powell – Ruston – RB
Powell exploded for 259 total yards and four touchdowns, powering Ruston to a 49-7 win over powerhouse Acadiana.

Greyson Dupre – Archbishop Hannan – LB
Dupre was a defensive machine, racking up 19 total tackles in the Hawks’ 14-13 win over Northlake Christian.

Chantz Babineaux – Carencro – ATH
Babineaux delivered two interceptions, including a pick-six, plus a game-sealing INT to lift Carencro past STM for the first time since 2006.

Aymaud Sykes – Grant – RB
Sykes made history with 10 touchdowns and 420 rushing yards in a 76-50 shootout win over Montgomery. He became the 4th player in NFHS history to score 10 touchdowns in a game.

Jacobi Boudreaux – John Curtis – RB
Boudreaux rushed 11 times for 218 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Patriots to a 54-26 road win over Cathedral in California.

Javon Vital – Hamilton Christian – ATH
Vital did it all, scoring five total touchdowns (two passing, two rushing, and one punt return) in a 38-14 win over DeQuincy.

Ty Walsworth – Loyola – WR/KR
Walsworth returned 2 kickoffs for touchdowns and reeled in a touchdown pass as Loyola took down St. Frederick’s 55-21 to claim the Bishop’s Cup.

Mason Guillory – North DeSoto – OG
Guillory anchored the O-line against a D1 commit, paving the way for 214 rushing yards and four scores in a 46-3 win over Union Parish.

Sedrick Wilson – Jena – RB
Wilson rumbled for 325 rushing yards and five touchdowns in a high-scoring 64-48 week 1 victory over Mangham.

Marques Zenon – Mandeville – DL
Zenon was unstoppable, recording 13 tackles, four sacks, two tackles for loss, and a forced fumble in a 38-25 win over Salmen.
