GeauxPreps names impact players from week 5

Da’Jean Golmond – Denham Springs
Denham Springs quarterback Da’Jean Golmond was unstoppable in a 41-14 win over Southern Lab in week 5, accounting for six total touchdowns. The senior threw for 245 yards and five scores through the air while adding another touchdown and 29 yards on the ground to lead the Yellow Jackets to a win.
Devin Lejeune – Church Point
Church Point’s defense was fueled by a ball-hawking performance from Devin Lejeune in the 35-10 win. Lejeune recorded four tackles, one tackle for loss, and three interceptions in a week 5 win over Iota.
Bryce Restovich – Loyola College Prep
Loyola quarterback Bryce Restovich once again delivered a record-breaking night in the Flyers’ 71-48 shootout win over Minden. Restovich threw for a school-record 513 yards and seven touchdowns while adding another score on the ground.
Ahmad Vappie – The Willow School
In one of the most thrilling finishes of the week, Willow’s Ahmad Vappie came up clutch in a 50-49 overtime victory against Sophie B. Wright. The senior hauled in eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns, both coming in the final minutes, including a 23-yard score with just two seconds left to force overtime.
Draylon August – Lafayette Christian Academy
With LCA’s top receiver sidelined, Draylon August stepped up in a big way on both sides of the ball. August made two touchdown-saving interceptions on defense and later capped his night with a diving touchdown grab.
Tyree Burton – Salmen
Salmen defensive back Tyree Burton turned in a highlight-filled night in a 35-28 win over Lakeshore. Burton tallied 15 tackles, 10 solo stops, two tackles for loss, and a forced fumble recovered for a touchdown, then added an 85-yard fumble return score to seal the win.
Alex Munoz – Teurlings Catholic
Teurlings quarterback Alex Munoz led a balanced attack in a 55-14 rout of Comeaux, accounting for five total touchdowns. Munoz threw for 142 yards and two scores. He also rushed for 80 yards and three more touchdowns.
Dakota Knox – Jonesboro-Hodge
Jonesboro-Hodge’s do-it-all playmaker Dakota Knox delivered a monster performance in the Tigers’ 49-44 win over Arcadia. Knox piled up 253 rushing yards, 152 passing yards, and six total touchdowns, carrying the offense with big plays through the air and on the ground.
Trevin Simon – Ascension Catholic
Ascension Catholic’s Trevin Simon turned in one of the week’s most complete efforts, with 307 yards and six touchdowns in a 49-40 win over Episcopal. Simon rushed for 290 yards and five scores, added a receiving touchdown, and chipped in defensively with three tackles and a game-sealing pass breakup.
Jamarcea Plater – Captain Shreve
Captain Shreve’s Jamarcea Plater etched his name into school history in a win over Airline. Plater rushed for 207 yards on 19 carries, scoring three touchdowns of at least 70 yards and becoming the Gators’ all-time rushing leader in the process.
Tyray Darensburg – Chalmette
Chalmette’s Tyray Darensburg was a defensive force in the Owls’ week 5 win over Pearl River. The senior linebacker racked up 18 tackles, including three for loss, and forced a fumble as the defense held its opponent to just six points in a commanding effort.
