GeauxPreps names impact players from Week 6

Trez Davis, West Monroe

West Monroe’s Trez Davis turned in a heroic performance in the Rebels’ win over previously unbeaten Alexandria. Playing just two weeks removed from wrist surgery, and with a cast on, Davis hauled in nine passes for 284 total yards and three touchdowns, including a 78-yard game-sealing score in the final minutes.

Luke Delafield, North DeSoto

North DeSoto quarterback Luke Delafield was in complete command during a 63-13 win over Minden. The senior tossed five touchdown passes and threw for 222 yards, leading the Griffins to 6-0.

Hunter Martin, Logansport

Logansport linebacker Hunter Martin made his presence felt all over the field in a 20-14 win over St. Mary. Martin finished with 17 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup.

Bra’jon Melancon, North Iberville

North Iberville’s Bra’jon Melancon did it all in a 50-44 win over St. John. He caught four passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns, including an 83-yard score on 3rd and long, while also adding an interception and 11 tackles on defense.

David Newton III, Peabody

Peabody running back David Newton Jr. powered the Warhorses to a 54-41 victory over Grant with a five-touchdown performance. Newton racked up 150 rushing yards and scored nearly every time his team needed a big play, carrying the offense.

Ayden Carter, Lake Charles College Prep

Lake Charles College Prep’s Ayden Carter put up video-game numbers in a 43-23 win over Jennings. The running back exploded for 412 yards and three total touchdowns.

Grant Cooper, DeRidder

DeRidder linebacker Grant Cooper led the Dragons in a defensive battle versus Eunice. Grant racked up 17 tackles in the 13-23 week 6 victory.

Cole Bergeron, St. Thomas More

Virginia Tech commit Cole Bergeron showed why he’s one of the state’s top quarterbacks in a 42-0 win over Northside. Bergeron rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another, efficiently guiding the Courgars to a shutout win.

Brenton Paul, Denham Springs
Denham Springs running back Brenton Paul was unstoppable in a 63-34 win over Live Oak. Paul rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns, including a 90-yard scoring burst that sealed the win.

Jacolby Campbell, Abbeville

Abbeville’s Jacolby Campbell made plays in every phase during a 24-16 win over Mamou. On offense, he caught nine passes for 121 yards and a touchdown, including a grab in the end zone. Defensively, Campbell racked up 11 tackles, a tackle for loss, and forced a key fumble that swung the momentum in the Wildcats’ favor.

Jaidon Briggs, Vinton

Vinton running back Jaidon Briggs carried the load in a 50-20 win over WCA, rushing 30 times for 276 yards and five touchdowns. The Lions improved to 4-2 on the season.
