GeauxPreps names Impact Players from Week 9

Luke Delafield, North DeSoto

North DeSoto quarterback Luke Delafield reached a major career milestone in Week 9, surpassing 10,000 career passing yards in a battle of unbeatens. Delafield led the Griffins to a 63-49 win over Loyola.

Andre Abshire, Ascension Episcopal

Ascension Episcopal’s Andre Abshire rushed for 156 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-21 win over Westminster Christian.

Keaton Cason, Logansport

Logansport’s Keaton Cason accounted for six touchdowns the Tigers’ 42-8 win over LaSalle. Cason threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns, added three more scores on the ground, and even caught a touchdown pass.

Malachi Dabney, Destrehan

Destrehan running back Malachi Dabney single-handedly carried the Wildcats’ offense in a win over Hahnville. Dabney found the endzone all seven times for Destrehan, rushing for 242 yards.

Jake Randle, Newman

Tulane commit Jake Randle showcased his dual-threat ability in a win over Country Day. He totaled over 400 yards and six touchdowns, throwing for more than 300 yards with four scores through the air and rushing for 132 yards with two more on the ground.

Richmond Saunier, Lafayette

Lafayette’s Richmond Saunier was responsible for every touchdown in the Lions’ 42-0 win over New Iberia. The versatile quarterback threw four touchdown passes and ran for two more.

Koby Pool, DeQuincy

DeQuincy’s Koby Pool was a force on both sides of the ball in a 33-18 win over Rosepine. He hauled in 11 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Pool also contributed 4 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Ma’kelin Lemoine, Elton

Elton’s Makelin Lemoine turned in one of the most well-rounded performances of Week 9, rushing for 396 yards and five touchdowns while also scoring on defense with a pick-six.

Trent Helwig, Haynes Academy

Haynes Academy quarterback Trent Helwig guided the Yellow Jackets 47-35 win over Patrick Taylor with a six-touchdown performance. Helwig rushed for 176 yards and two scores, adding 125 yards through the air with four touchdown passes.

Carter Macha, Teurlings Catholic

Teurlings Catholic’s Carter Macha was all over the field in Teurlings’ 38-14 win over STM. He tallied nine tackles, including three for loss, all leading to punts, and delivered a game-changing hit that forced an interception when the Rebels trailed 14-3.

Brody Anderson, Westlake

Westlake’s Brody Anderson had a massive offensive night in a 54-49 shootout win over South Beauregard. He totaled 417 yards, throwing for three touchdowns and adding three more on the ground to lead the Rams in a high-scoring thriller.
