LHSAA Decision Awards 2024 State Championship to St. Martin’s Boys Basketball
St. Martin’s Episcopal has been crowned the 2024 Division IV Select boys basketball state champion after the Louisiana High School Athletic Association ruled that Crescent City Christian used an ineligible player during March’s state title game.
The decision overturned Crescent City’s 71-59 win and gave St. Martin’s its first-ever boys basketball state championship.
The school received the championship trophy earlier this week and plans to present it to the team on Saturday.
St. Martin’s had a historic season, making its first-ever trip to the Marsh Madness after reaching the semifinals the year before.
Crescent City, which remains playoff-eligible this season, will face St. Martin’s again in district play on January 31.
