Lafayette Christian Academy Announces Coaching Changes for Football Program

According to a report from Eric Narcisse at the Acadiana Advocate, Zach Lochard is no longer the Head Coach and Director of Football Operations for the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights after a 1-3 start to the 2024 season.
Mike Coppage has reported that Offensive Coordinator Matt Standiford and Defensive Coordinator Mitch Craft will step in as co-head coaches for the remainder of the season.
**Lafayette, LA** – September 30, 2024 – Lafayette Christian Academy (LCA) has announced a leadership transition in its football program. After one season, LCA will be parting ways with Head Coach Zach Lochard. The school has decided to move in a new direction with its coaching leadership.
Effective immediately, Offensive Coordinator Matt Standiford will assume the role of Head Coach. Standiford, who has been with the LCA football program for the past six years, brings extensive experience and a deep familiarity with the team. His leadership and offensive expertise have been integral to the team’s success.
In addition, Defensive Coordinator Mitch Craft will take on the role of Co-Head Coach, sharing the leadership responsibilities alongside Standiford. Craft has also been a pivotal part of the coaching staff, known for his strategic vision and defensive strength.
The LCA administration has expressed its desire to shift the direction of the team’s leadership while ensuring continuity in the program. All current assistant coaches will be retained as part of this transition, providing stability and support for the team moving forward.
