Louisiana High School Coaches Association Convention Set for July 15-17

The Louisiana High School Coaches Association will hold its annual coaches convention from July 15-17 at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge. The clinic, blending instruction, networking, and fellowship, begins with the LHSCA Golf Scramble at Greystone Golf & Country Club on the morning of July 15, where last year’s champions Burke Broussard, Joey Thibodeaux, Jeff Tageant, and Clay Tageant aim to defend their title. Clinic highlights include a keynote address by renowned motivational speaker Kevin Kush, known for his tenure as head football coach at Boys Town and his feature on ABC World News Tonight as “Person of the Week,” who will speak on “Winning Where It Matters.”

The convention boasts a diverse array of speakers, ensuring valuable insights for coaches of LHSAA sports. Featured speakers include:

A coaches social is scheduled for July 16 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Mockler Beverage Company, 11811 Reiger Road, Baton Rouge. The social offers a relaxed environment for coaches to connect, share experiences, and build relationships. The LHSCA business meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 17 at 1:00 PM, addressing vital organizational matters and future planning for the coaches association.

The convention is a great opportunity for coaches and administrators to enhance their skills, engage with peers, and enjoy a mix of educational and social activities. With an extensive lineup of speakers and sessions, this year’s clinic promises to be a fantastic experience for all attendees. LHSCA Director, Eric Held, consistently orchestrates a first-class clinic, and this year’s will once again be a success.
