Making an Impact: GeauxPreps Week 2 Impact Players
by Marshall Loeffler // GeauxPreps.com
There were some great individual efforts in some big games in Week 2, and while this may not be the ten very best performances, here is a list of guys that I thought were huge for their team:
Trenton West – Beekman Charter
The Tigers’ RB had 18 carries for 74 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns, plus two 2-point conversions to go along with 6 catches for 60 yards on offense. On defense, he added 5 tackles and recovered an onside kick to seal the 40-34 win over LaSalle.
Noble Williams – Alexandria
The Trojans junior RB rushed for 203 yards on 13 carries, had 4 touchdowns, and stepped up to carry the load on offense for ASH in the first half of a 59-16 win over Union. Williams has over 350 total yards through two games.
Jaelle Noble – St. Augustine
Jaelle Noble totaled 311 yards of offense and six touchdowns as St. Augustine defeated Destrehan 42-13. Noble completed 15 of 20 passes for 256 yards and four touchdowns while running 15 times for 55 yards and two scores in only his second game as a varsity starter.
Devin Lavalais – Marksville
The Tigers’ senior QB/DB had three more touchdowns against Abbeville to bring his season total to seven. “Bam” has also forced turnovers on defense for a Marksville team that is now ranked in the top 10 in Class 3A.
Dashun Lightfoot – Acadiana
The Acadiana standout RB delivered another star performance, rushing for five touchdowns and also contributing on defense to power the Wreckin Rams to a 36-28 victory over Zachary and get Acadiana to 2-0 for the first time since the shortened 2020 season.
Cooper Thomas – Pine
The Raiders junior QB went 9 for 11 for 118 yards and 4 passing touchdowns while adding 119 rushing yards on 12 carries, running and throwing for triple digits to help Pine beat Pope John Paul II 33-21 and move to 2-0.
Cayden Lancelin – Westgate
The 4-star wide receiver went deep a few times for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only five catches from Noah Antoine as Westgate beat Southside 42-33 in Week 2 to remain unbeaten.
Jamarquise Richardson – Delhi
The Bears RB had 10 carries for 188 yards and 3 TDs plus 1 catch for a 64 yard TD in a 60-0 win over Magnolia School of Excellence and evened out Delhi’s record at 1-1.
Deontae Fleming – East St. John
The Wildcats WR was literally all over the field: he racked up 322 all-purpose yards and 4 total TDs (6 catches for 200 receiving yards and 3 TDs, 1 rush for 33 yards and 1 TD, 4 kickoff returns for 89 return yards). On defense, he forced a fumble and sealed the 28-14 win over John Ehret with an interception.
Kollin Magee – Logansport
The Tigers QB put up great numbers in a 60-7 win over Buckeye, finishing with 355 yards passing and 4 TDs along with 55 yards rushing and 1 TD, giving him 410 total yards and 5 TDs on the night and keeping Logansport unbeaten in 2026.
