Oak Grove Baseball has been selected as the “Sharpest” Team of the Month presented by Sharp Athletics, following its fifth consecutive state championship, a milestone that places the Tigers among the most accomplished sports programs in Louisiana history.

Entering the postseason with an 18-12 record and the top seed in Division IV Non-Select, Oak Grove navigated a challenging playoff path, rolling past Lake Arthur and Montgomery in mercy-rule fashion. The Tigers moved past district rival Mangham in the semifinals 4-2, and delivered a 10-0 win over second-seeded Welsh in the championship game in Sulphur.
The 2025 team was built on depth, experience, and leadership from a veteran senior class that went a perfect 18-0 in playoff competition over five seasons. Louisiana Tech signee Jackson Bradley earned Most Outstanding Player honors in the state title game, tossing a shutout and driving in two runs, while seniors Tanner Duff and Seth Ray were also instrumental in the Tigers’ run.

Statistically, Oak Grove excelled across the board. The Tigers hit .322 as a team, posted a 3.34 staff ERA, and maintained a .965 fielding percentage. Four-year starter Luke Simmons (.384) led the offense alongside Duff (.364, 7 HR, 38 RBI), Ray, Bradley, and standout eighth-grader James Gregory (.370), offering a glimpse into the future of the program.

Despite a loaded schedule that included several top opponents in the state, Oak Grove found its rhythm when it mattered most. With a foundation of player development and championship culture, the Tigers continue to set the standard and earn this month’s honor as the “Sharpest” team in Louisiana.
