Parkway Panthers Named GeauxPreps Team of the Week After Gritty Victory Over Byrd

In a game that demanded resilience and depth, the Parkway Panthers rose to the challenge, earning the title of GeauxPreps Team of the Week after their 46-35 win over the Byrd Yellow Jackets. Missing seven key starters and their starting quarterback sidelined with an injury, the Panthers dug deep to pull off a victory in a high-scoring battle.
Stepping into the quarterback role was Gavin Ferrington, a Centenary lacrosse commit who traded his stick for a football and led the offense with poise. His leadership on the field, despite the circumstances, was pivotal in orchestrating Parkway’s offense.
The Panthers’ ground game dominated, with CJ Dudley putting on a masterclass, rushing for 194 yards on 39 carries. Complementing him was Carmaro Mayo, who totaled 170 yards, including 78 rushing and 92 receiving, while finding the end zone twice.
