Prairieville Lady Hurricanes named Sharpest Team of the Month
Prairieville High’s Lady Hurricanes (20-3) have earned Sharpest Team of the Month honors presented by Sharp Athletics after putting together a perfect 7-0 record in January.
The Lady Hurricanes opened the month with wins over St. Michael and Hammond before hitting the road and to take down at E.D. White and Glen Oaks. Their most impressive test came on the 15th, when Prairieville edged French Settlement (21-3), 60-59, in a battle of top non-select programs. The month wrapped with road victories over Episcopal and St. Amant, punctuated by a 69-48 win to close out January unbeaten.
Senior forward and UNO commit Rhian Comery has been the driving force behind the Lady Hurraines’ surge. In the win over St. Amant, Comery finished with 32 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Prairieville took down Dutchtown 69-51 last night to move to 2-0 in district play.
