Playoff Paths Await

The LHSAA releases football playoff brackets tomorrow, though the exact time hasn’t been announced.

After delays in last year’s release, let’s hope the process goes smoothly this time around! We’ll keep you posted as soon as the news breaks!

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott returned to his hometown of Haughton for the dedication of Prescott Field, a tribute to where his football journey began.

As a senior for the Buccaneers, Prescott threw for 2,860 yards and 39 touchdowns and rushed for 951 yards and 17 scores on the ground.


THE PERFECT SEASONS

Eleven teams across Louisiana capped off their regular seasons with perfection, finishing unbeaten is a huge accomplishment, congratulations to these schools!

Edna Karr (10-0) Edna Karr completes back-to-back perfect regular seasons with a 35-14 comeback win over Rummel and looks to repeat as state champions.

Iowa (10-0) The Yellow Jackets completed their first undefeated regular season with a 47-14 win over DeRidder to win the district championship.

North DeSoto (10-0) For the first time in school history, the Griffins completed their first undefeated season with a 56-3 win over Bossier.

Teurlings Catholic (10-0) For the first time since 1995, Teurlings Catholic completed an undefeated regular season with a 36-6 win over Northside.

Erath (10-0) The Bobcats completed their first 10-0 regular season in school history since they started playing in 1953 with a 40-12 win over Abbeville.

Jewel Sumner (10-0) The Cowboys pulled out a 21-7 win over Amite in week 10 to complete the perfect regular season, along with a district championship.

Young Audiences Charter (8-0) In their second varsity season, Young Audiences Charter swept the field and completed an 8-0 season with a 36-0 win over Patrick Taylor in their finale.

Kinder (10-0) The Yellow Jackets completed their first undefeated season since 2014 and rolled with a 48-6 win over Avoyelles.

Hamilton Christian (9-0) Hamilton Christian rolled in their finale over Basile, 39-13, to complete the perfect regular season.

Haynesville (10-0) Haynesville is used to this, the Golden Tornado rolled in a 47-0 victory over Glenbrook in week to complete their second straight perfect regular season.

Westminster Christian (10-0) The Crusaders not only locked in a district championship last night, but they finished the season 10-0 with a 37-22 win over a very talented St. Edmund squad.
