The Top Prospects to watch in the Louisiana Football State Championships

The 2024 Louisiana high school football season wraps up in style this weekend as the state championships take over the Caesars Superdome.

Some of the best talent in the state will head south. Power Five recruits, and a few names to keep an eye on for the next level. With big-time matchups and plenty of excitement on deck, the Dome is the place to be December 12-14.

Here are the players who are certainly worth the price of admission:

JT Lindsey – Alexandria – 2025

JT Lindsey, a consensus 4-star prospect and LSU signee, has rushed for over 2,000 yards this season while leading the Trojans to the 2024 Division I Select state championship. Ranked No. 148 nationally, No. 9 at his position, and No. 4 in Louisiana in the On3 composite, he is also listed as high as No. 137 overall by Rivals. Both 247Sports and Rivals rank him as the No. 8 running back prospect, with On3 placing him at No. 12. Lindsey’s postseason included a standout semifinal performance, rushing for 252 yards and two touchdowns on 41 carries in a 24-13 win over John Curtis.

TaRon Francis – Edna Karr – 2025

A consensus 4-star prospect from tradition-rich Edna Karr in New Orleans, Francis is ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver in Louisiana by 247Sports. In the On3 composite, he is listed as the No. 9 overall player in Louisiana and No. 28 wide receiver nationally. A multi-sport athlete excelling on the track, he helped lead Edna Karr to an undefeated 10-0 regular season, a District 9-5A title, and the No. 1 overall seed in the 2024 Louisiana Division I Playoffs.

Aiden Hall – Edna Karr – 2026

Aidan Hall, a standout safety from Edna Karr, is a consensus 4-star prospect ranked among the nation’s elite. On3 lists him as the No. 34 overall player, the No. 4 safety nationally, and the No. 3 player in Louisiana. Hall holds a 4-star rating from all major recruiting services, including 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. Committed to LSU, he is poised to bring his exceptional talent to Baton Rouge.

Corey Adams Jr. – Edna Karr – 2025

Corey Adams Jr., a standout defensive lineman from Edna Karr is a unanimous three-star prospect rated by all major recruiting outlets. On3 ranks him as the No. 43 defensive lineman nationally and as high as No. 16 overall in Louisiana, while ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports list him among the state’s top 30 recruits. A two-time first-team all-state and all-district honoree, Adams recorded 62 tackles, 19 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, and four batted passes during his senior regular season.

Richard Anderson – Edna Karr – 2026

Richard Anderson, a disruptive defensive lineman from Edna Karr, is a consensus 4-star recruit recognized by all major recruiting services, including On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. Ranked as the No. 50 player nationally in the 2026 class by On3, he is also the No. 3 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 4 overall player in Louisiana. Committed to LSU, Anderson chose the Tigers over offers from Ole Miss, Florida State, and Florida.

Elijah Haven – Dunham – 2027

Dunham’s Elijah Haven is a name every high school football fan—and college recruiter—should know. The 2027 prospect is ranked by On3 as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 3 player in the country, as well as the top player in Louisiana. Haven has already received offers from LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss, Baylor, SMU, and more. As just a sophomore, he’s rewritten Dunham’s record books with 103 career touchdowns, a school-best mark, and he’s just getting started.

Jacob Washington – Archbishop Shaw – 2025

Archbishop Shaw’s Jacob Washington is a Michigan signee and a big time playmaker. The wide receiver is a consensus four-star prospect, earning top-250 rankings nationally from multiple outlets, including ESPN, On3, and 247Sports. He ranks as high as the No. 3 player in the state and the No. 15 wide receiver nationally, according to On3. A first-team All-District honoree in Class 4A Division 9, Washington’s combination of speed, athleticism, and playmaking ability makes him one of the most exciting prospects in the country.

Jasper Parker – Archbishop Shaw – 2025

Jasper Parker, another Michigan signee, capped his senior season with 1,612 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns, including a record-breaking 326-yard game against Lafayette Christian. A four-star prospect ranked among the nation’s top running backs by 247Sports, Rivals, and On3, Parker also earned Class 4A District 9 Offensive MVP honors.

Braylon Calais – Cecilia – 2027

Cecilia’s Braylon Calais has solidified himself as one of Louisiana’s premier talents in the 2027 class. Ranked as a four-star prospect by On3 and 247Sports, Calais is listed as the No. 12 athlete in the country, the No. 4 player in Louisiana, and the No. 68 player nationally. With offers from Houston, Miami, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and Tulane, his versatility and playmaking ability make him a standout star to watch.

Aidan Anding – Ruston – 2025

Ruston’s Aidan Anding is a consensus four-star cornerback and the No. 1 rated cornerback in the state of Louisiana. Ranked as the No. 6 player in the state and the No. 25 cornerback nationally in the On3 composite, Anding is rated even higher by 247Sports, which lists him as Louisiana’s No. 4 prospect and the No. 19 cornerback in the nation. His lockdown coverage and elite skills make him a standout on the field.

Josh Brantley – Ruston – 2025

Ruston quarterback Josh Brantley has proven himself as a leader and playmaker. A three-star prospect across On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals, Brantley has the Bearcats back in the division I state championship game after earning the Most Outstanding Player honor as a junior.

Ahmad Hudson – Ruston – 2027

Ahmad Hudson is a force at tight end and one of the nation’s elite prospects. Ranked as the No. 2 tight end, No. 13 overall player nationally, and No. 2 player in Louisiana by On3, Hudson is a consensus four-star recruit across On3, 247Sports, and Rivals. With offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Florida, and more, his combination of size, athleticism, and skill makes him a game-changer on the field.

DK Mays – Central – 2025

Central’s DK Mays has emerged as a disruptive force on the defensive line. A consensus three-star prospect, Mays is ranked as the No. 87 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 31 overall player in Louisiana by 247Sports. As a senior, he’s racked up 32 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 10 hurries, and 8 sacks, showcasing his ability to dominate opposing offenses.
