Tioga named Sharpest Team of the Month

Few teams in Louisiana have caught fire like Tioga over the month of October. Named the Sharpest Team of the Month presented by Sharp Athletics, the Indians rolled through one of the toughest stretches of their schedule, picking up four straight wins.
Making a Statement in Cenla
It started on October 3rd, when Tioga marched into Guy Campbell Memorial Stadium and handed Jena its first loss of the season, 45–26, in what felt like a playoff atmosphere in Central Louisiana.
Dominance the Rest of the Month
From there, Tioga never looked back.
- October 9: The Indians piled up points in a 59–36 win over Wossman.
- October 17: They followed that with a 49–7 blowout over West Ouachita.
- October 24: A trip to Peabody ended in another runaway, 49–6, as Tioga continued to put up points in bunches.
Through four October games, Tioga has outscored opponents 202–75, averaging more than 50 points per game and winning by an average of nearly 32 points.
A Three-Headed Monster on Offense
There’s no mystery behind Tioga’s success – it starts with one of the most explosive trios in the state.
- QB Cace Malone: 1,795 yards, 19 TDs
- RB Kenny Ponthier: 1,330 yards, 19 TDs
- WR Kervin Johnson: 46 receptions, 1,107 yards, 14 TDs
Looking Ahead
Undefeated in district play with games against Grant and Franklin Parish to close the regular season, Tioga looks every bit the part of a team ready to make a deep playoff run.
