Undefeated Dreams: 5 Teams Chase Perfection at the Prep Classic

As we head into the 2024 Prep Classic, five Louisiana high school football teams are still perfect, and they’re looking to finish the season just as strong. Alexandria, Dunham, Edna Karr, Haynesville, and Vermilion Catholic have all cruised through their seasons without a loss.
CLASS 1A
- Haynesville (13-0)
- Haynesville rolled past #12 General Trass with a 52-20 win in the semifinals. The Golden Tornado was in control from start to finish, showing off their offensive and defensive power. It was a big statement win as they punched their ticket to the 2024 Prep Classic. They’ll face #2 South Plaquemines on Thursday at 3:30.

- Vermilion Catholic (13-0)
- #1 Vermilion Catholic shut out #12 Kentwood 33-0 in the semifinals, cruising to an easy win. The Eagles dominated both sides of the ball, holding Kentwood scoreless and securing their spot in the 2024 Prep Classic with a strong all-around performance. The Eagles will face #11 Ouachita Christian at 12 pm on Thursday.
CLASS 2A
- Dunham (13-0)
- #1 Dunham powered past #7 Bunkie with a 46-22 win in the semifinals, thanks to another standout performance from quarterback Elijah Haven. The Tigers’ offense was firing on all cylinders as Haven led the charge, punching their ticket to the 2024 Prep Classic in style. The Tigers will face #7 Catholic-N.I. on Friday at 3:30.
CLASS 5A
- Alexandria (13-0)
- #2 Alexandria took down #19 John Curtis 24-13 in the semifinals, with LSU signee JT Lindsey leading the way once again. Lindsey’s strong performance helped the Trojans control the game and secure their spot in the 2024 Prep Classic. Alexandria will face #1 and fellow undefeated squad, Edna Karr on Saturday at 12 pm.

- Edna Karr faced their toughest test of the season in the semifinals but managed to squeak by Catholic-BR with a hard-fought 21-19 win. After dominating opponents all season with double-digit victories, the Cougars showed grit and determination to punch their ticket to the 2024 Prep Classic. Karr will face undefeated Alexandria on Saturday at 12 pm.
