Week 1: GeauxPreps Offensive Players of the Week

In a high-octane showdown between Leesville and Sam Houston, offensive fireworks lit up the field as two standout student-athletes delivered jaw-dropping performances. Sam Houston emerged victorious, winning 56-41, but both teams’ rushing attacks were led by unstoppable forces.

Leesville’s Xavier Ford was a force to be reckoned with, rushing for an impressive 311 yards and 6 touchdowns, averaging 7.6 yards per carry. Ford’s relentless ground game kept Leesville in the fight, as he sliced through the Sam Houston defense with a mix of power and agility.

However, Sam Houston’s Drew Bailey was equally electric, leading his team to victory with a nearly identical performance, rushing for 310 yards and also 6 touchdowns, but with an eye-popping 9.7 yards per carry. Bailey’s breakaway speed and ability to hit the gaps allowed Sam Houston to pull away in a thrilling game.

Despite the loss, Xavier Ford’s valiant effort and Drew Bailey’s game-winning performance earned both players recognition as GeauxPreps Offensive Players of the Week. This epic battle between the two powerhouse backs is sure to be remembered for a long time.
