Week 2: GeauxPreps names Football Players of the Week

Cooper Babin – St. Amant
St. Amant quarterback Cooper Babin has been named the GeauxPreps Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2 after a record-setting performance in the Gators’ 60-56 shootout victory over Cecilia.
Babin accounted for 550 of St. Amant’s total yards, throwing for 401 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 149 yards and four more scores. Displaying a special connection with wide receiver Quinten Elisar, Babin led a game-winning drive in the final minute. With this effort, the senior quarterback has propelled the Gators to a 2-0.
Alex Mitchell – Loyola
Loyola strong safety Alex Mitchell has been named the GeauxPreps Defensive Player of the Week after a three-interception performance in the Flyers’ 47-12 win over Logansport.
Mitchell recorded all three of interceptions in the second half. His efforts helped Loyola’s defense maintain control of the game, contributing to the team’s 2-0 start this season. The Flyers face 2-0 Cedar Creek on Friday evening.
