West Monroe is set to elevate DeMichael Dizer to the role of head football coach. Currently serving as the Rebels’ head strength and conditioning coach, Dizer’s promotion reflects his dedication and impact within the program since joining the staff in 2017.
Dizer’s football journey began at Sterlington High School, a fellow Ouachita Parish school, where he graduated in 2003. A standout defensive player, he earned All-State honors in 2001 and 2002. He also led the Panthers to a state runner-up finish in 2002.
Dizer continued his career at Grambling State University, where he was a four-year letterman from 2004 to 2007. His leadership on the field earned him the titles of team captain and Defensive Player of the Year in 2007.
After his collegiate success, Dizer signed a two-year free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks as a defensive back.
Dizer began his coaching career in 2011 at his alma mater, Sterlington High School, before taking on the role of Director of Sports Performance at Victory Sports Academy in 2014. In 2017, he joined West Monroe’s coaching staff, where he served as a defensive backs coach before becoming the program’s head strength and conditioning coach.
Dizer will become the 16th head coach in the program’s history, succeeding Kevin Davis, who led the Rebels to a 14-9 record over the past two seasons, including a quarterfinal appearance in 2024. Dizer’s promotion marks a new era for West Monroe, as the program seeks to build upon its rich tradition of success.
