2022 Preview

To say the least, second-year skipper Vinnie Bullara is excited about his 2022 Hornet team.

With eight starters returning on offense and seven coming back on defense, the expectations are high in New Roads.

Bullara explained how the buy-in and commitment from his players is at an all-time high with an excellent offseason workout plan that could help set Catholic-PC up for a successful campaign.

"The senior class is a very close group of kids, who are doing an excellent job of stepping into leadership roles," said Bullara. "A few shakeups and additions to the coaching staff has injected new energy, accountability, and expectation within the program. We will be tested early with a very tough non-district schedule and we hope to be up to the challenge."

One of the key returners coming back is "do-it-all" senior athlete Connor Achee who has the ability to provide big plays on each side of the ball while last year's top rusher, Hayden Elliott (1,100 yards, 19 TDs), returns to lead the ground game.

The 2022 slate includes a favorable schedule for the Hornets including a season-opening contest at home against Bunkie, a Week 4 trip to Mississippi to take on Wilkinson County and a Week 5 home battle against White Castle. In league play, the Hornets host Opelousas Catholic and Westminster while making trips to Sacred Heart, St. Edmund and North Central.
