2022 Preview
Just a few months after stepping down for a chance at the college ranks, Matt Middleton is back as the head man at Cedar Creek and is ready to get the 2022 season going.
The Cougars return an experienced group of starters that will be key to helping the program navigate through a challenging schedule both in and out of district competition.
Offensively, with seven starters returning, senior Caden Middleton returns to lead the offense under center while Lane Thomas is expected to control the ground game. On defense, A.J. Thomas is back and will give the Cougars leadership in the trenches while Austin Webb and Quincy Lewis will team to lead the defensive backfield.
In non-district play, Cedar Creek opens the season against Glenbrook at the annual Battle On The Border event inside Independence Stadium in Shreveport. From there, the Cougars travel to Vidalia and Winnfield while hosting games against Delhi and Tensas. In league play, Lincoln Prep and River Oaks will make trips to Cougar Stadium while Cedar Creek travels to Ouachita Christian and St. Frederick.
