2022 Preview

The 2022 Central Wildcats will be a team that has something to prove.

With a new district and new players filling in voids that are missing from the 2021 team, the Wildcats will have to learn to grow up fast in the state's largest classification. However, this Central team is looking to surpass all expectations given to them.

The offensive unit, which returns six starters, will have to put in the work early in the season to get acclimated to a challenging schedule against some of the top talent in Louisiana. Junior Tyler Fortney will be the signal caller while Glen Cage is in charge of the ground game. With former Mandeville head coach Hutch Gonzales running the offense, expect some explosive, high-octane plays.

Defensively, six returners are brought back from a year ago. Seniors Colby Williams and Donte Cryer will head up the line while Caedan Cooley will serve as one of the leaders in the secondary.
