2022 Preview

Despite four consecutive trips to the postseason, East Beauregard has struggled in the win column over the last few seasons. That is likely to change should Ronnie Simmons' team remain healthy in 2022.

With 15 total starters returning from a year ago, the Trojans will be most effective up front and in the run game which is their "bread and butter". On offense, East Beauregard will be very experienced up front with tailbacks Gage Hildreth and Caleb Johnson leading the ground game. Despite a run-heavy offense, Isaac Humphries is expected to start under center and could help with the offense production with over 500 yards and eight touchdowns passing last season.

On defense, Simmons expects the defense to step up in a big way with only four starters lost from last season. The Trojans will lean upperclassmen such as Freddie Beall to help jumpstart the unit into preventing opposing offenses from producing long drives.

A Week 1 showdown with a talented Rosepine squad awaits the Trojans while other non-district tilts include Pickering, Mamou and Grand Lake. In league play, East Beauregard is expected to be very strong and will go up against Elton, Hamilton Christian, and Basile at home while traveling to Gueydan, Oberlin and Merryville.
