2023 Preview

The Green Oaks Giants football team is headed into an exciting 2023 season with new leadership under head coach James Bradford, Jr, who is in his first season at the helm.

Despite a challenging 2022 with a 2-9 overall record, the team is fueled by the return of 14 lettermen, including six offensive starters and seven defensive starters. With a cohesive core and a fresh coaching approach, the Giants are aiming for a stronger performance this year.

Bradford is optimistic about the team's outlook, emphasizing the experience gained from the return of key players who have been part of the program for multiple years. The Giants have put in the work over the summer to improve, and their goal is clear: to become district champions and make a deep playoff run. This renewed determination bodes well for the team's chances in the upcoming season.

Keep an eye on quarterback Tovoras Lee, a dual-threat player who threw for 1,500 yards and showcased his versatility with over 300 rushing yards last season. The receiving corps is led by Delarrious Marshall, who recorded an impressive 585 yards and eight touchdown receptions in the previous year. Marshall's impact isn't limited to offense; he also shone on defense, leading the team with 61 tackles and two interceptions in 2022. The team has additional playmakers in Amarion Dorsey, who caught three touchdown passes, as well as linemen Jamari Coleman and Kevin Richardson, who will be crucial in both protecting the quarterback and creating opportunities for the offense.

With a solid core of returning players and a determined coaching staff led by the first-year head coach, James Bradford, Jr., the Green Oaks Giants are primed for a competitive season. If they can build on their experience and execute Coach Bradford's game plan, we can expect to see them make a strong push toward their ambitious goals of becoming district champs and making a memorable playoff run in 2023.
