Dominant Effort Lands St. Thomas More Inaugural Red Zone Fundraising Cup Victory
In a stellar showcase of athletic prowess and teamwork, St. Thomas More has been crowned the overall winner of this year’s Red Zone Fundraising Cup. This prestigious award, which meticulously tallies points from all current LHSAA-sponsored sports, highlights the exceptional achievements of both boys’ and girls’ sports teams throughout the school year.
St. Thomas More, based in Lafayette, topped the leaderboard with an impressive 1,273 points. The school’s athletic program shone brightly, capturing state championship victories in six different sports. This remarkable accomplishment underscores the depth and versatility of their athletic talent, as well as the dedication and hard work of their coaches and student-athletes.
Parkview Baptist earned the runner-up position in the all-sports points totals, amassing 1,206 points. The Baton Rouge-based school also demonstrated excellence across the board, securing state championships in four different sports.
In the boys-only tabulation, Catholic of Baton Rouge led the field with 870 points, powered by three state championship victories. Their performance was a testament to their strength and dominance in boys’ athletics throughout the year.
On the girls’ side, St. Joseph’s Academy took the lead with 690 points, showcasing their superiority in girls’ sports with three state title victories. Their athletes’ determination and skill were evident in their performances, making them the top contenders in the girls’ division.
St. Thomas More’s victory in the Red Zone Fundraising Cup will be celebrated with a customized trophy, which will be awarded in the near future. The school’s outstanding achievements will also be featured on GeauxPreps.com, highlighting the incredible journey and success of their athletic programs.
