Northwood’s Hannah Mouton Drops 32 Points At Doc Edwards Tournament

Northwood of Shreveport’s Hannah Mouton was electric as she accounted for 32 points Thursday afternoon in a tournament game against Arcadia.

Mouton was responsible for scoring 56% of the Lady Falcon’s total points in the contest.

Southern Lab Lady Kittens Dominant in EBR Tourney Quarterfinal Victory

The top-ranked Southern Lab girl’s basketball squad continued its string of dominant victories Thursday with a 64-33 thrashing of Glen Oaks to advance to the semifinals of the highly competitive East Baton Rouge tournament.

Two double-digit scoring efforts led the Lady Kittens from Kinsley James (23 pts) and Asia Patin (16). James used a barrage of three-point shots to finish with 39 points in a win against Northeast on Wednesday.

Southern Lab will take on Woodlawn of Baton Rouge in a semifinal showdown scheduled for a 7:30 tip.

Walker’s Ray’Onna Sterling Shines in Episcopal Tourney Win

Ray’Onna Sterling’s game-high scoring effort of 20 points was enough to help the Lady Wildcats take a tournament win over South Beauregard, 74-58, on Friday.

In addition to her double-digit scoring performance, Sterling grabbed five rebounds, recorded three assists and was successful on three steals.

Walker continues its Episcopal Tourney slate Friday at 1:30 p.m. against Amite.

BOYS BASKETBALL

St. Thomas More’s Michael Mouton Eclipses 1,000 Career Point Mark

STM senior Michael Mouton celebrated with family and friends after a 74-41 victory over Crowley as he surpassed 1,000 points scored in a career.

Mouton looks to help the Cougars bring home the annual Sunkist Shootout title as it continues its tourney slate Friday at 6 p.m. against Brother Martin.

Amite’s Braylon Jackson Knocks Down Double-Digit Scoring Performance

Braylon Jackson enjoyed an exceptional birthday performance Thursday evening as he lit up the scoreboard in a contest against Covington.

The senior hoopster used a 29-point performance to lead his squad on the night and even highlighted the game with a dunk that had each spectator in attendance on their feet.

Jevon Johnson Joins Bossier High’s 1,000 Point Club

Another chapter of Bossier High’s illustrious history was written as Jevon Johnson joined an inclusive list of Bearkats to have scored 1,000 points or more in a career.

Johnson led his squad to a 52-43 victory over Airline to join the club on December 15 and has led the Bearkats to wins over Evangel and Gibsland-Coleman this week. In the win against, Gibsland-Coleman, Johnson finished with 30 points.
