GIRL’S BASKETBALL

Archbishop Hannan’s McKenna Sinon Joins 1,000 Point Club

Sinon was celebrated for her performance in Wednesday night’s 61-40 victory over Cabrini where she eclipsed the 1,000 career point mark.

On the year, the Lady Hawks are 10-6 and currently rank No. 8 in the Select Division II power ratings. They are set to face Dominican in the semifinals of the Chapelle Catholic Tournament Thursday night at 7:30.

Mandeville’s Alanna Benoit Leads In Sugar Bowl Classic Opening Win Over Warren Easton

In the opening round of the Sugar Bowl Classic basketball tournament, Mandeville handled Warren Easton, 54-24, as two Skippers finished in double-figures.

Alanna Benoit led with 21 points on the night and grabbed five rebounds along with five steals. Mandeville is back in action this afternoon at 4 p.m. against Oakdale.

Alana Gray, Saline:  Gray scored 16 points in loss to Ouachita Christian

Kalena Smith, Castor:  Smith scored 15 points in loss to Sterlington

Lila Sepulvado, Negreet:  Sepulvado scored 15 points in loss to Simpson

Najahe Davis, Lakeview:  Davis scored 15 points in win over Ringgold

Chelsie Davis, Mansfield:  Davis scored 15 points in win over Woodlawn

BOYS BASKETBALL

No. 3 Ringgold Set For Bossier Invitational Battle Against the No. 5 Bearkats

It will be one of the most anticipated showdowns in northwest Louisiana Thursday night as the Class 1A Ringgold Redskins do battle with the Class 4A Bossier Bearkats.

Bossier defeated Loyola Prep, 63-22, in the opening round of the invitational on Wednesday night while Ringgold dropped a narrow, one-point loss to Lakeview.

The Redskins’ Jordyn Wilson scored 20 points in the loss while Jbari Adams ranks fourth in the state with 261 rebounds (11.9 per game).

L.B. Landry’s Daryl Adams Sets New Career High in Scoring

Daryl Adams could not miss Wednesday night as his 41-point performance paced Landry to an impressive victory over West Jefferson.

The junior point guard added six assists to the outing while the Bucs improved to 12-7 on the year.
