In Week 4, standout players across Louisiana high school football continued to make their mark with impressive performances. From record-breaking running-backs to defensive playmakers, these student-athletes kept shining under the Friday Night Lights. Here’s a look at our top impact players from Week 4.

Harlem Berry – St. Martin’s

St. Martin’s standout Harlem Berry delivered a dominant performance in their Week 4 victory over McMain, averaging an incredible 18.9 yards per carry. On just 10 carries, Berry racked up four touchdowns, leading his team to a 42-8 win. His explosive playmaking ability was on full display, proving why he’s the top-rated back in the state.


Nate Sheppard – Mandeville

Mandeville’s Nate Sheppard has been on an absolute tear the last few weeks but Friday night was one to remember. Sheppard rushed for five (5) touchdowns, returned a kickoff for a touchdown, and finally, a punt return for a touchdown. He broke his brother Will’s school record for touchdowns in a single game… that had to feel good! That gives him 23 touchdowns through four games. 


Ben Taylor – Airline

Airline quarterback Ben Taylor was named GeauxPreps Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Vikings to a 47-42 win over Evangel. Taylor’s 77-yard game-winning drive, capped by a 23-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Darby, secured the victory. He finished with 391 yards and four touchdowns, bringing his career totals to 9,546 passing yards and 101 touchdowns, guiding Airline to a 4-0 start.


Matthew Hebert – St. Louis Catholic

St. Louis Catholic linebacker Matthew Hebert was named GeauxPreps Defensive Player of the Week after a standout performance in the Saints’ 29-22 win over Washington-Marion. Hebert recorded 8 tackles, 2 for a loss, a sack, 2 interceptions, a pass breakup, and a forced fumble, playing a crucial role in the victory.


Jonathan Bravo – Denham Springs

Denham Springs kicker Jonathan Bravo delivered another clutch boot, hitting a game-winning field goal at the buzzer to lift the Yellow Jackets over East Ascension, 20-17. This marks his second consecutive game-winner, as Bravo also sealed a 16-13 victory over Woodlawn with a late field goal last week.


Darius Servick – Hammond

Hammond’s Darius Servick delivered a dominant defensive performance in their 41-6 win over Higgins, recording 8 tackles, 5 for a loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and a pass breakup, leading the charge in the commanding victory.


Xzavier White – Alexandria

Alexandria’s Xzavier White showcased his defensive prowess in a thrilling 43-40 win over defending state champions Opelousas, racking up an impressive 21 tackles. White’s relentless effort was pivotal in keeping his team in the game, proving he’s a key playmaker for Alexandria.


Brodie Savage – Captain Shreve

Captain Shreve’s Brodie Savage delivered a stellar performance in Week 4, completing 11 of 16 passes for 293 yards and 5 touchdowns, leading the Gators to a 53-35 victory over Benton. Savage’s explosive playmaking helped Captain Shreve secure a commanding win in a high-scoring battle.


Carter Ward – Loyola

In a dominant 50-0 win over Southwood, the player delivered a standout defensive performance with 2 solo tackles, 3 interceptions for 78 return yards and a touchdown, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery. His playmaking was instrumental in the shutout victory.


Zheric Hill – Ruston

Ruston’s Zheric Hill delivered a standout performance in their 38-6 win over Midland Legacy (TX), racking up 10 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 2 interceptions, including a pick-six. His impact on both defense and the scoreboard was crucial in the dominant victory.
