Inaugural Baseball Bayou Jamb Set For Saturday, Feb. 18
WEST MONROE – Saturday, February 18, 2023, six teams will gather at West Monroe High School- Shelby Aulds Memorial Baseball Field for the inaugural Bayou Jamb Baseball Jamboree. Each team will have the opportunity to compete in a two-game series to take home bragging rights.
Ouachita Christian High School, Neville High School, Ouachita High School, Ruston High School, West Ouachita High School, and West Monroe High School will participate in a full day, two-game series jamboree. The jamboree will again provide fans and spectators of all ages an opportunity to enjoy a variety of baseball-related activities in a family-oriented, and safe atmosphere.
“Bayou Jamb is known for kicking off the football season and hosting this area’s top talent on the football field. Our goal is to create the same atmosphere for our community and players in the game of baseball. We have been part of the North Louisiana sports community since 2006, hosting the largest football jamboree in Louisiana, we continue to embrace the importance of high school sports and the value it brings to athletes of every sport.” said Patti Thurmon Director of Bayou Jamb Sports.
The Bayou Jamb Baseball Jamboree will highlight approximately 150 of our local high school players and most importantly, give each team a chance to see their team live against another team, focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and prepare for the season ahead.
Many activities will supplement the baseball jamboree offering opportunities for spectators from the young to senior citizens something to enjoy.
TICKETS – West Monroe, LA – Tickets are $8/day in advance, $5 / students, and $10/day at the gate, 5u free. All ticket proceeds purchased in advance will go directly to each participating school. Tickets can be purchased now by downloading the Bayou Jamb app on Apple or Google Play.
BAYOU JAMB MEDIA DAY – West Monroe, LA – The Bayou Jamb 2023 Media Day will be Tuesday, February 14th, at West Monroe High School, Don Shows Field House beginning at 10 am. Coaches from the six participating teams will address the media, and each school will bring two of its top players. Please request Media Credentials before February 8th on the Bayou Jamb app.
TAILGATING – West Monroe High School – Saturday, February 18th @ West Monroe High School designated area. In addition to the great baseball action, our Fan Jamb Tailgate starts Saturday at 7:00 am and Baseball fans can set up their RVs, tents, and grills and stay through the day to watch all the baseball action. LIFETIME ACHIVMENT AWARD – West Monroe, LA – The 2023 Bayou Jamb Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree is Coach Micah Harper of Ouachita Christian High School. Coach Harper is a member of the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame’s class of 2018 after a three- decade career that included more than eight hundred wins and six state championships. Coach Harper will be the first Coach awarded the Bayou Jamb Football and Baseball Lifetime Achievement Award.

You can expect a fan- friendly, walkable footprint featuring games, food trucks, fun activities for the entire family starting Saturday, February 18th at 9:00 am.
