Istrouma’s Paul, Loranger’s James Named Football Players of the Week

This week’s GeauxPreps Football Players of the Week honors are presented by Chevyland.com and awarded to two deserving student-athletes who served as game changers for their respective schools.
Offense: Rylan James, Loranger – RB – Freshman
In a high-octane offensive showdown last Friday night, Rylan James, the freshman sensation from Loranger, stole the spotlight with a performance that left spectators in awe. James was the driving force behind the Wolves’ 79-point explosion, accounting for an astonishing 36 of those points. The young tailback was virtually unstoppable, amassing a jaw-dropping 404 rushing yards, all while averaging nearly 14 yards per carry. In a single game, he found the end zone an incredible five times, showcasing his remarkable talent and determination. However, his contributions didn’t stop at offense alone. James also showcased his versatility by returning two kickoffs for 84 yards, setting up Loranger for sustained drives. Rylan James has undoubtedly left a significant mark in the world of high school football.
Defense: Kyrie Paul, Istrouma – ATH – Junior
Kyrie Paul, the two-way star for Istrouma, proved to be a game-changer on both sides of the ball in a victory over Bonnabel last Friday. On defense, he wreaked havoc, recording an impressive seven tackles, two crucial interceptions, and a spectacular 75-yard pick-six. His ability to break up passes was evident with four pass breakups that disrupted the opponent’s passing game. However, his impact extended beyond his defensive prowess. On the offensive side, Paul was equally dynamic, contributing 217 total yards and an impressive three touchdowns while averaging 10 yards per carry. His all-around performance was instrumental in guiding the Indians to victory, showcasing his exceptional skills as a student-athlete.
These two standout athletes, Rylan James and Kyrie Paul, have demonstrated remarkable dedication, skill, and versatility, earning them the prestigious GeauxPreps Football Players of the Week awards.
