Lafayette Christian Academy Unveils State-of-the-Art Studio: A Game-Changer for High School Sports Broadcasting
by: Vincent Cacioppo // GeauxPreps.com Managing Editor
Lafayette Christian Academy is revolutionizing high school sports media with the launch of a cutting-edge, 7,000-square-foot studio on its campus. The new facility, envisioned by Pastor Jay Miller and brought to life over the last eight months, will serve as the production hub for KVNT, a network dedicated to showcasing high school sports and related content across the Acadiana area and beyond.
The studio features state-of-the-art technology. Pastor Miller, who spearheaded the project, shared that the idea was born from a desire to elevate high school sports coverage to a professional level, allowing students, schools, and content creators to produce and share their own content.
A New Era for High School Sports Coverage
Lafayette Christian staff and students are set to lead the charge in content creation, producing “Hard Knocks”-style programming that takes viewers behind the scenes of locker rooms, weight rooms, and more. This initiative isn’t just for LCA; it invites participation from a wide array of schools, making it a more LCA-minded network that can impact the entire Acadiana region and beyond.
The KVNT studio is now fully operational, and the KVNTV app is available for download on Android, iOS, TV, mobile, and tablet devices. This app will serve as a one-stop shop for all high school sports content, with plans to invite any and all content from schools across the state. Schools and content creators are encouraged to contribute their own material, making it a collaborative platform for the entire high school sports community.
Programming to Look Forward To
KVNT is kicking off with an impressive lineup of shows that highlight some of the biggest names and stories in Louisiana sports:
- Bayou Legends – A 30-minute show featuring sports icons like Jake Delhomme, Kevin Faulk, and Lafayette’s own, Dustin Poirier. This series will offer in-depth interviews and insights from legends who have shaped Louisiana sports.
- On the Clock – Hosted by Chris Reis, this show will include sit-downs with coaches, principals, and student-athletes from high schools in the Acadiana area and beyond.
- Danny Broussard Show – A must-watch for basketball enthusiasts, this show will feature interviews with prominent figures like Dale Brown, Shaquille O’Neal, and Will Wade. Each week, one high school coach will also be featured. Tune in every Wednesday night beginning in October.
- Knight Nation Live – Get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at each LCA football season, offering fans an insider’s perspective on game day.
- Crafting Champions – Hosted by Mitch Craft, LCA’s Defensive Coordinator and Strength & Conditioning Coach, this show will delve into the making of champions at LCA and beyond.
All these shows will be available on-demand through the KVNTV app, providing easy access for fans and supporters.
KVNT Game of the Week
KVNT will also broadcast the “Game of the Week” during the football season, showcasing matchups from each Lafayette Christian game this year, home and away. Games will be aired on channel 19.2 on Friday nights, reaching households across Acadiana on cable platforms, covering areas from Lake Charles to Patterson to Opelousas. The Game of the Week will expand to other teams as the station grows.
A Vision for the Future
Pastor Miller emphasized that the vision for KVNT is to provide a free platform where any school can be featured on the network. The KVNTV app will always remain free, ensuring that high school sports content is accessible to everyone. Schools and content creators interested in contributing to the network are invited to reach out via email at info@kvntv.com.
With KVNT, Lafayette Christian Academy is not only enhancing its own sports media but is also creating opportunities for other schools to share their stories with a wide audience, further enriching the high school sports experience in Louisiana.
