LHSAA Division III & IV State Tennis Tournament Results From Thursday

MONROE – The LHSAA State Tennis Tournament continued Thursday with Divisions III and IV turning in exciting performances that kept each field within reach of championship gold.

In Division III, St. Louis Catholic leads the boys division with nine total points with Newman lingering behind with seven points. Miller McFatter and Benjamin Reinauer led the way in singles action for the Saints and have two doubles teams set to compete in the quarterfinals on Friday.

In a tight race for the Division III girls title, Newman compiled eight points behind a strong performance from three of its doubles team including the duo of Virginia Cunningham and Gwendolyn who advance into Friday’s semifinal matchup.

The boys Division IV tournament is currently led by Christ Episcopal School’s six point performance with two singles and a doubles team advancing to quarterfinal action. Vermilion Catholic is on the trail with five total team points.

In the girls division, Louis McGehee is in first place with six team points while Episcopal of Acadiana and Oak Grove stand in second place with five points each.
