Loreauville’s Alyssa Soileau Named Softball Player of the Week (Feb. 19-24)

In a week packed with outstanding performances on the softball field, Alyssa Soileau of Loreauville High School has emerged as the undeniable star, earning the prestigious Softball Player of the Week award presented by Visit Lake Charles. Soileau, a senior pitcher, showcased her versatility and skill set, leaving an indelible mark both on the mound and at the plate.

Soileau’s dominance was on full display throughout the week, where she proved to be a force to be reckoned with in every aspect of the game. With a batting average of .533, she consistently delivered clutch hits, helping propel her team to victory. Her offensive prowess was highlighted by four extra-base hits, including three powerful home runs that sent shockwaves through the diamond.

However, it wasn’t just her offensive contributions that earned her this accolade. Soileau’s performance inside the circle was nothing short of spectacular. Over the course of four games, she amassed a perfect 4-0 record while pitching 22 innings. Her precision and control were evident as she allowed a mere three earned runs and just nine hits, while striking out an impressive total of 37 batters.
