“Momentum’s a Dangerous Thing” — Mansfield Erases 35-0 Deficit
In easily the wildest game of the night, Mansfield rallied from a 35-0 deficit to defeat Minden 46-38. During Tim Fletcher’s Friday Night Football Frenzy, Mansfield Head Coach Darrell Barbay reflected on the Wolverines comeback, “I’ve been coaching for 33 years and I’ve never been a part of anything like that. Momentum’s a dangerous thing when it’s not on your side, our kids showed a lot of heart.”
Fletcher’s show closed with his signature segment featuring Shreveport/Bossier head coaches highlighting unsung heroes, and Barbay pointed to linebacker and backup quarterback Jordan Hamilton, who stepped up in a big way when his team needed him most.
Road Trippin’
John Curtis vs Cathedral High

John Curtis embarked on a 1,900-mile journey from New Orleans early Thursday morning to compete in the California Classic Bowl hosted by San Juan Hills High School in San Juan Capistrano. The Patriots rushed for 657 yards, breaking the school’s single-game record. Jacobi Boudreaux led the rushing with 11 carries for 211 yards and four touchdowns, powering John Curtis to a 54-26 victory. Thanks to our friends at Catholic League Sports for the stats.
Jesuit (New Orleans) vs Jesuit (Dallas)

Jesuit traveled to Dallas for a Week 1 rematch against Jesuit (Dallas), looking to avenge last year’s 28-20 loss. This time, the Blue Jays fought through challenging conditions, with the game ultimately being called at the start of the third quarter due to inclement weather. The game ended 31-6 (Jesuit Louisiana), closing an early-season test cut short by Mother Nature.
Big Time Players Making Big Time Plays
Ruston tight end Ahmad Hudson, ranked the No. 3 tight end and No. 38 overall player nationally by On3, made a statement in Ruston’s victory over Acadiana with an incredible catch and run. Hudson climbed the ladder and strolled to the endzone, showcasing why he’s one of the top prospects in the 2027 class.
Destrehan’s Jabari Mack, an LSU commit and ranked as the No. 11 wide receiver in the country, and No. 4 player in Louisiana by On3. Mack showcased his playmaking ability on both ends. He did so defensively with a 102-yard pick-six.
