Volleyball Power 25: One hot streak continued. Another came to an end.

That’s the basic equation for a change at the top of this week’s VSN/GeauxPreps Volleyball Power 25 Presented by K Miller Gems and Jewelry Brokerage as Mt. Carmel is back at No.1 in unanimous fashion.
The Volley Cubs have gone 7-0 since losing to Dominican on October 15 including five Power 25 wins (beating No.4 Hannan twice).
“We’re focusing on finishing out this last week of games on a high note,” said Mt Carmel coach Taylor Ricaud. “(We’re) still cleaning things up in our rotation and I really feel we are starting to peak. We’re excited to start playoffs.”
Last week’s No.1 St Michael had a 19-match win streak snapped last Thursday by district foe Parkview Baptist 3-2 (20-25 , 25-19 , 22-25 , 25-22 , 10-15) and fell just one spot to No.2
Dominican also lost this week (3-1 to No.7 Country Day) and are ranked No.3.
Parkview Baptist made the biggest jump climbing five positions into the No.9 position after a 6-0 week that included four Power 25 wins highlighted by beating No.1 St Michael on the road Thursday. The Eagles have won 12 in a row, and 16 out of the last 17.
“All of our players are starting to settle into their roles and are becoming more cohesive with every practice and game,” said Parkview Baptist coach Alison Didier Leake. “We talk often about how we don’t have to be perfect but being better than we were the last touch and how to execute that. We have had players stepping up when one is struggling and that has helped our trust on the court – they’ve truly got each other’s backs, and it’s beautiful to watch.”
