Week 8 Prep Football Polls Powered By The Tim Fletcher Show

LAKE CHARLES – There has been some movement towards the top of this week’s GeauxPreps.com Football Top 10 Polls powered by The Tim Fletcher Show.
St. Thomas More (Class 4A) and Oak Grove (Class 1A) have risen to the top spot in each program’s respective class. Oak Grove’s Tiger squad turned in an impressive victory over the previous No. 1 team in Class 1A Ouachita Christian, snapping the Eagles’ 16-game win streak along the way. Edna Karr’s loss to St. Augustine on Sunday snapped the Cougars’ 13-game winning streak and propelled St. Thomas More into the top spot of Class 4A.
Acadiana (Class 5A), De La Salle (Class 3A) and Lafayette Christian (Class 2A) all remained at the No. 1 position in their respective class.
In Class 5A, St. Augustine leaped into the Top 10 following its upset over Karr on Sunday. Class 4A’s poll saw major drops as Karr fell from the top spot to No. 3 while Minden was dropped from the Top 10 following a loss to Neville.
This week will feature one of the top match-ups in the state as well as Class 3A as Jennings (No. 2) and Lake Charles Prep (No. 5) prepare to battle it out in a District 3-3A contest. Jewel Sumner and E.D. White entered into the Top 10 poll for the first time this season.
Lafayette Christian’s dominance of Class 2A continued over the weekend after having defeated Notre Dame in district competition. The Comets’ loss dropped them to No. 4 while Many moves into the No. 2 spot and Ferriday the No. 3 spot.
Class 1A did not see much change other than Ouachita Christian dropping to No. 3 in the poll after its loss to Oak Grove.
