2022 Preview

Kaplan hopes to capitalize on an influx of returning lettermen and experienced skill players and get back to its winning ways in the 2022 season.

Offensively, the Pirates will be experienced in the backfield featuring returning all-district tailback in Caden Campisi (1,320 yards, 13 TDs rushing) while the unit will sport a dynamic approach this season with an athletic quarterback taking over the reins along with speed out on the edges.

The biggest question for Kaplan will be its defensive unit which is projected to start six sophomores after having to replace a majority due to graduation. However, head coach Cory Brodie believes that athleticism and knowledge of the game will help the defense acclimate quickly in preparation for a grueling district schedule.

The Pirates host North Vermilion and Beau Chene while traveling to Berwick, LaGrange and Rayne as a part of its non-district schedule. In league play, Kaplan hosts Erath and Abbeville while make the trip to Crowley, St. Martinville and Church Point.
