2022 Preview
Opelousas Catholic returns almost its entire squad from last fall and will look to build on last year's success.
Offensively, junior Mark Collins returns under center for the Vikings while senior John Michael Jarrell and Chris Brown are expected to share the running duties. Cole Lafleur, Jake Veazey and Josh Deville will provide depth in the trenches to allow head coach Thomas David's spread offense room to score points as needed.
For the defense, the three aforementioned linemen are expected to make an impact in a stronger district this season while Collins and Jarrell lead the secondary. In total, eight starters remain from last season's nine-win campaign.
The Vikings have scheduled some staunch competition to prepare themselves for district play as they welcome defending Division IV champion Southern Lab (Week 4) to town as well as a season opening tilt against Oak Grove. Other non-district action includes games at Ascension Catholic and Port Barre in addition to another home game against Holy Savior Menard.
