2022 Preview

The expectations are soaring high in Rosepine once again this season as the Eagles with some of the top talent in the central region returning to lead the Eagles to what could be a championship worth campaign.

Returning for his fifth season at the helm, Bradley Ducote is excited about the 16 total starters returning on top of the experience gained by some of the lower classmen across the last two seasons. Despite, losing LSU baseball signee Ethan Frey at the quarterback position, Rosepine looks to keep the train rolling with record-setting tailback in Grant Ducote (2,015 yards, 35 TDs). Hoping to break the school's career rushing record, Ducote will be tasked with leading the offensive unit along with top receiving target in Isiah Stinson, who pulled in 11 touchdowns last season.

One of the biggest question marks on offense includes the quarterback position as senior Jake Smith looks to fill some big shoes as he takes over for Frey.

Defensively, seven starters return including Michael Woods (139 total tackles, 11 sacks, 1 INT) as he leads the unit along with seniors Bryson Meeks (72 tackles, 2 INT) and Aden Cline (63 tackles, 7 INT). Woods, who set a program record for tackles in a season as a sophomore, hopes to break that record again.

With key players returning, Ducote is expecting to make a solid run at a district championship as well as a deep run in the Class 2A playoffs to help build off of last year's quarterfinal run. The Eagles have a solid non-district slate with the likes of Kinder, South Beauregard and Logansport before entering district play to compete against Avoyelles, Oakdale, Menard and Pickering.
