Protect Yourself From Online Streaming Phishing Scams

GeauxPreps is aware of the many phishing attempts made by fake social media accounts claiming to be GeauxPreps, associated with LHSAA member schools or broadcast channels. Scammers create these accounts under the guise of providing a live web stream of high school events to get fans to enter their personal information on malicious sites.

Some scammers use GeauxPreps logos and other marks as a way to deceive people, but there is only one official account for each platform controlled by GeauxPreps and no sport-specific accounts will be created or used to promote events. GeauxPreps maintains a single official account on X (Formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, with the handle @GeauxPrepsLA.

To protect yourself from phishing scams, please ensure you are not re-sharing posts from fake accounts. If one of your games is live-streamed, inform fans through official communication channels and advise parents to be aware and alert when on social media.
