Final GeauxPreps.com High School Football Polls Powered by The Tim Fletcher Show

LAKE CHARLES – The final GeauxPreps.com Prep Football Polls presented by The Tim Fletcher Show have been released following the completion of the regular season.

Brother Martin finished as the No. 1 team in the state’s highest classification after defeating John Curtis, 38-35, Friday night to remain undefeated on the year. Catholic-BR, Rummel, Acadiana and West Monroe rounded out the top five while John Curtis dropped out of the poll after finishing 4-4 on the year.

In Class 4A, St. Thomas More held on to the top spot finishing ahead of Karr, Warren Easton, Carencro and Northwood-SH as all five finished the regular season either having won or were open. A Eunice loss to Notre Dame allowed for a new team to enter the Top 10 field with Cecilia climbing into the field.

There was not much change in Class 3A with De La Salle continuing to serve as the top of the classification. However, any of the top five teams could have easily been named to the No. 1 spot. Jennings, University Lab, Lake Charles Prep and Union Parish rounded out the top five.

Lafayette Christian continued its quest for another state title after finishing No. 1 in the Class 2A poll. However, the likes of Many, Notre Dame and Newman trailed close behind as all vye for a spot in their respective field’s state championship game.

Oak Grove will be the team to beat in Class 1A as the Tigers finished undefeated in the regular season. Calvary Baptist and Ouachita Chrisitian will most likely have a say in who gets to the state championship game in Division IV. St. Edmund’s loss to Catholic-PC allowed St. Mary’s to climb into the Top 10 while Haynesville dropped out following a loss to rival Homer.
