In a week brimming with stellar performances on the baseball diamond, one player stood out among the rest. Marshall Louque, a junior at Lutcher High School, has been named the Baseball Player of the Week, an accolade proudly presented by Visit Lake Charles.

Louque’s outstanding contributions led his team to an undefeated week, showcasing his prowess both at the plate and on the mound. His performance was nothing short of exemplary, embodying the spirit of excellence in high school baseball.

Throughout the week, Louque displayed remarkable consistency at bat, boasting an impressive .533 batting average. His offensive prowess was highlighted by eight hits, including three crucial extra-base efforts. In addition to his prowess with the bat, Louque demonstrated his clutch factor by driving in five runs, including pivotal moments like driving in the game-tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the seventh inning in a tense showdown against Tioga.

However, it wasn’t just his offensive contributions that earned him this prestigious honor. Louque showcased his versatility and dominance on the mound, delivering a masterful performance against Teurlings Catholic. In this particular outing, Louque pitched six innings of sheer brilliance, holding his opponents scoreless while striking out an impressive 12 batters. His impeccable control and command of the game were evident as he allowed no earned runs, ultimately securing a crucial victory for his team.
