Patterson’s Davis, Westgate’s Lively Take Home GeauxPreps Football Player of the Week Honors

This week’s GeauxPreps Football Players of the Week honors are presented by Chevyland.com and are being awarded to two deserving student-athletes who served as game changers for their respective schools.

Offense: Caylon Davis, Patterson – QB – Senior

Davis led a Patterson offense that finished with 850 total yards and 10 touchdowns in a 69-52 win over Ascension Episcopal on Friday. The senior quarterback threw for 557 yards and seven touchdowns on 26-for-29 passing, while also rushing 10 times for 62 yards and a touchdown. Davis has thrown for over 1,200 yards in just the first three games this season.

Defense: Dy’Traevous Lively, Westgate – LB – Sophomore

Lively came up big in the Tigers’ 37-21 victory over Evangel Christian, tallying 14 total tackles, four tackles for a loss, two sacks, three interceptions and two forced fumbles including one that led to a Westgate touchdown. Friday night’s production on defense helped extend the Tiger win streak to 11 straight contests, the longest among all Louisiana teams.
